Not everyone wants a castle, heating bills, lots of stairs and the occasional rat comes  to mind.

Not everyone aspires to become a full blown wealth creator. Some just want a quality life, nice home and to be comfortably off.

While some want it all, many have far more modest dreams.

Some may also have reasons why they cannot take up the challenge, perhaps they have children or other commitments that just don't make it possible to take on such a large challenge, but would still like to do something.

So where do they stand, can H3 Mentoring assist them at all.

The answer to this depends on the amount of effort they are expecting to put in. If they are looking to make a business run around their social life or thinking they are going to get something for nothing, then no, we cannot help them, perhaps they should take a look at Business Club International. BCI  have home workers information and lots of help for those interested in this area. Alternatively they could joint ABAN the business angel network, this is free by the way, and then find out about individual opportunities, low cost franchises, joint ventures and other projects that they can do part time, or full time from home.

Suppose on the other hand that their commitments or current level of confidence is suggesting to them that they need to put together a business, but work it around caring or another job for this time, but they seriously intend to put in every available minute and to commit to making this a success,  then yes, H3 Mentoring can help them. We will however probably ask that they also join the ABAN Plus Club as a personal plus consultant member, as this gives them a level of support and involvement to allow them to achieve a great deal with less involvement from your mentor.

In reality the test that is applied is a very simple one, very little different from the others, it is; can an agreement be reached as to the activity level and commitment, and can we be fairly confident that the apprentice will put in the effort and stay involved. The restrictions will of course be greater, travelling will probably be limited, and availability may fluctuate.

The only difference really is in the objectives, and these will tend to set out what level of success is hoped for within what time frame.

With modern communications there are many things that can be equally run from anywhere and flexitime used to fulfil the tasks involved. Take for example a picture researcher, they are asked by a business to look for photographs for a publication or advertising campaign and have to look through a wide range of libraries to find the shots they will suggest, they then make a short list and email the suggestions to the client. As the research is being done over the internet, and many of the libraries in any event operate on a wider time frame marketing internationally, you can probably find some point in any schedule where you could call them. Where you may be unlikely to make millions operating as a picture researcher, a sizable income can be obtained, particularly where you have found the clients rather then a library having referred them to you. So why pick on this unusual business, quite simply because it illustrates a point and we are aware of a number of these opportunities that will come up next year, together with a number of similar ones.

Most internet based businesses, publishing, internet art sales, and a wide range of other activities can also be run in a similar way, as can administrative tasks and quite a range of other activities.

In the same way as your bank doesn't exist to generate profit for you, H3 Mentoring likewise expects to gain some advantage from its relationship with you. This means that when thinking about any business that is smaller you still have to remember that for us to be involved we have to be rewarded in some way, and this should be proportionate to the effort and time your mentor has to put in. This can often be balanced up a lot if you also join the ABAN Plus Club as a personal plus consultant member, as this gives them a level of support and involvement to allow them to achieve a great deal with less involvement from your mentor. All apprentices join this eventually its just a mater of timing, they often do not join until they already have some cash flowing in, so its not their own existing money used for this. You can find out about ABAN including free membership at www.aban.org.uk

You go about applying in exactly the same way, but make sure it is clear when you supply the information prior to the meeting that you have greater limits to what you can do and have set lower targets.
