June 2007 Update

Fantastic opportunities continue to develop, and some of our larger projects have also come into play. We have delayed some projects in order to get a very large one up and running fully.

The largest project becoming operative fully at the moment involving a number of joint venture partners and mentoring apprentices is the GB Pictures project, this is a large project that involves over 15 companies in a joint venture a new non profit company as the centrepiece, several hundred self employed commissioned service providers and a new franchise network with 4 franchise types. The project revolves around the profitable limited edition art market, although will also include originals soon. Limited editions, like bank notes, are very valuable and the cost of production is relatively low providing a very large gross margin.

Several of the service provider opportunities have considerable potential, and require no capital at all.  Similarly the franchises are very attractive, having no franchise fees, absolutely huge returns and some of the best quality art products available anywhere. A team approach by franchises allow the volume and value of stock required to be kept down. We are also in effect  loaning franchisees part of the stock cost, by delaying a chunk of the costs, and although this could mean up to 6 million tied up, it will speed up the franchise network growth.

This project involves a lot of growth, new areas being added, extra capacity and more.  We hope to meet these needs fully by joint ventures, in effect keeping this extra margin amongst our apprentices and companies. We at H3, are appointing  service providers, handling the setting up of the franchises and a lot more, so are having constant opportunities to involve the mentoring apprentices. We are arranging currently to put on a large number of free presentations around the country to allow more people to find out about this.

Currently we are in the unusual situation of actually considering going out looking for mentoring apprentices as we have far more opportunities than we can bring into play. So far we haven't, instead we have recruited people for team roles within the GB Pictures project specifically.  You can see more about this on the GB Pictures team website at www.gb-pictures.co.uk This gives details of many of the current team opportunities, while most of the joint venture opportunities that we cannot take up within our own associates, will appear eventually on the ABAN business angel website.

We are looking to dispose of a property company and some houses, and this will be handled by ABAN as we don't have anyone free to handle it, and its a task we have been going to do for the last 6 months. This property company, and properties, provides a good opportunity, with very good income potential, but other opportunities in other areas have had the potential to create more, and we now feel this is better handed on to someone else to make the most of. The properties have no mortgages and are registered to the property company so there is no legal fees involved in transfer. ABAN has suggested that given the opportunity this presents it should be for sale by tender.
